Any type of furniture or appliance which could be potentially pulled over by a particularly wilful toddler, such as a bookcase or TV, should be securely fastened to the wall of the static caravan. If your static caravan has blind or curtain cords, ensure these are always tied back out of reach, as these pose a risk of accidental strangulation.
Although static caravans are generally very safe places for children and babies, there may still be areas that are out of bounds. For example, parents may want their baby or toddler to have access to the kitchen while they are cooking or may which to contain them in their bedroom while they are using the bathroom and so forth. Any drawers or cabinets within reach or those that contain potentially dangerous material or substances should always remain locked up when a baby or toddler is present. This includes items such as cleaning products, toiletries, or anything sharp; kitchen knives, tools etc, as well as small items which your baby could potentially choke on, for example, food; grapes, nuts, sweets etc., and household goods such as button batteries and marbles. Plastic bags can be potentially suffocating and should also be kept out of reach.
Toddlers and babies are often around the same height as coffee tables and chair seats and other lower pieces of furniture and edges. Some of these furnishings have sharp edges which can easily cause a nasty bump on the head. Corner protectors offer a great way to prevent such accidents and are inexpensive and easy to supply.
All ornaments and anything else which may be dangerous to your baby or toddler should it break, must be maintained out of reach.
