A successful workout consists of 3 parts: Warm up, exercise and cool down. Never start a workout without warming up as this can lead to injury! Likewise skipping cooling down results in fatigue, muscle soreness and a hellishly rubbish next day!
Warm Up & Cool Down stretch exercises
A good warm up (and cool down) routeen generally takes 5 to 10 minutes and is made up of stretches and light Cardiovascular exercises. For example: Perform a selection of the stretching exercises below and then jump on the cross trainer. Perform 1 minute on level 4, then 3 minutes on level 6 and finish by doing 1 minute on level 5. Then start your workout. Finish your workout by performing 2 minutes at level 6, then 2 minutes at level 5, 1 minute at level 4 and perform the same stretch exercises below
